May. 21st, 2007 01:16 pmMy great grandfather, Kolya was a red soldier. He fought in the army of General Budenniy, then in World War 2. He kept a set of false teeth in a cut glass full of water and some grenade splinters somewhere in his body. In spring he used to make a big bunch of nettles and ask me to switch his back, "for good health".
He wasn't on good terms with my great grandmother, each of them having their own bedroom. When, rarely, I happened to enter great grandfather's room (almost empty: a bed, a table, a chair and a big world map on the wall) he always asked me to find and show him Easter Island, belonging to Chile, on the map. I still don't know why. But always, Easter Island...
the Day of Victory -

dead soldiers' dreams?
